I finally ordered my book bag for 8th grade today from L.L. Bean. Of course, I was forced to choose a rolling one instead of an uber cool messenger bag, so "I can walk to school and not destroy my back". Then again, maybe it was smart because of the tremendous amount of books I have to carry. Other 8th graders know what I'm talking about. First thing in the morning, you get up, have breakfast and then have to walk to school with a 20-pound load of books on your back. Then you get to school and have to carry it up 5 flights of stairs. And after you have a great time hanging out with friends and learning new things at school, you realize you have to carry the now 21-pound bag home. You can't forget one book, or else it's detention for a 1/2 hour. But on the bright side, I guess it kind of counts as a workout.
I'm super-excited for the Teen Choice Awards tonight. I voted for South Park at least 20 times. I think it would be pretty fun if South Park wins, because let's face it, we know the majority of Teen Choice Award voters are probably tweens, voting for Spongebob and the Jonas Brothers. I voted for South Park because I love the show, but how funny would it be if South Park won? I'm also excited for the season finale of "My Life on the D-List", but the TCA are only once a year.
Am I the only one with nothing to do this summer except stupid summer school work? I call up one of my best friends from Party Favor * and she says " Sorry, I can't come over, I have stuff to do." I don't!!Seriously, I want to go back to school already. Don't worry. When school starts and there is stuff to do, I'll have much more exciting things to blog about than book bags and the TCA. - Anneliese
(* Party Favor was a book club my best friends and I made way back in 4th grade. I don't want to use their real names without permission, because they might get mad at me. I sometimes abbreviate Party Favor to P.F. You can see a picture of the members on the right.I'm the one below Romy, who is stuck on the Y. This wonderful picture was created by one of the members and the best artist I know, Romy.)
PART II (After The Teen Choice Awards)
Spongebob beat South Park?! Twilight beat Slumdog Millionaire!? Everything I voted for lost. I'm talking about the Teen Choice Awards, of course. The tweenie boppers must be stopped! All they do is sit there all day watching Hannah Montana, listening to the Jonas Brothers and voting for Kris Allen! We have to stop the madness!
Then again, I remember being a tween. But that was 2 months ago! And I didn't like the Jonas Brothers, and I voted for Adam Lambert. And I also hated Twilight. So, maybe it's just me.
But Spongebob! C'mon!

I hate rolling bookbags...the backpacks make you macho! I dunno what bag I'm using this year, 'cause my usual messanger bag got covered in drawing charcoal when I took those art classes at FIT in Manhattan.
PF is aweeeesoommme...just for the record :)
