The Earthquake in Haiti

   We are always given a daily opportunity to help someone, whether it is a friend, a family member, a co worker, or even an enemy. However, today we are given the opportunity to help something that is bigger than all of us.

  Our arguments with our parents and our conflicts with are friends are so trivial compared to what happened today. The numbers of those who are anticipated to be dead are very large. In every single digit that made up these numbers, there was a life. There was a story. 

  What can you do to help? Text "Haiti" to 90999 and $10 will be donated to Red Cross. If you don't want to give money, the most important thing to do is send out your good energy into the world. It does not matter what religion you are.  If you pray, or meditate, or just think, send out positive thoughts. If you have friends or family who are affected by this situation, comfort them. Personally, I even have some family friends who are being affected by this situation right now.

  We cannot control our planet, and it seems as though we cannot always control ourselves. But as fellow human beings, it is not an opportunity to help someone today, it is our obligation.  So do your part today and help those who were affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
